Jeen-Yuhs Episode 1 review

The most anticipated documentary of the year, ‘Jeen-Yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy’, finally premiered on Netflix. The three-part instalment, directed by Coodie Simmons and Chike Ozah, is an intimate account of a young Kanye West who left Chicago for New York in pursuit of his dreams in the big apple.

We watch as the man – whose larger-than-life character has captured the attention of the world for the last decade – gets turned down by labels and desperately wants to not be a discounted producer-rapper by Roc-A-Fella record executives. We also watch a relentless character never waver in his quest to success.

Kanye West, through the lenses of ‘Jeen-Yuhs’, has affirmed to viewers just what it takes to manifest your dreams and aspirations. First-hand shots of Ye inspire relatability in dealing with rejection and his staple approach of never taking no for an answer is incredibly motivating.

The remaining parts are yet to be released, with the next landing on February 23rd. This needs a place on your watchlist!
