Peckham native, John Boyega features in the highly-anticipated ‘Breaking’ movie. Based on a true story, the movie is set in a bank. Boyega portrays a vulnerable ex veteran with a bomb who takes the bank hostage and begins to make hasty demands.
The late Michael K Williams, best recognised for his character ‘Omar’ in the crime-drama series ‘The Wire’ is the officer taking charge of the hostage situation. In a recent interview Boyega said “I actually requested him to be in this movie, and he came through”. He went on to describe Williams as “a good bubbly guy”.
‘Breaking’ has promptly received amazing responses from critics at the Sundance film festival. The trailer has certainly raised anticipation for the movie, which is set to be in theatres August 26th.
