Quinta Brunson made Emmy history by becoming the first black woman with 3 comedy nominations for her role in Abbot Elementary. The nominations are; outstanding comedy series, lead actress in a comedy and writing for a comedy series. At 32 she is also the youngest black woman ever.
This was her reaction to the news. “What an honour to be nominated by the Television Academy. Creating this show has been the greatest gift and to have it recognized in this way is the dream. It’s a joy we get to share with the amazing people who watched our first season.”
The awards take place on 12th of September 2022
