The trailer for Sony’s upcoming historical action epic The Woman King by director Gina Prince-Bythewood was released today. The Woman King staring Viola Davis as Nanisca, an African commander who led the Agojie, a real-life army of all-female warriors. It depicts how they “fought enemies who violated their honor, enslaved their people, and threatened to destroy everything they have lived for.”
The Woman King also stars John Boyega as King Ghezo, Adrienne Warren, Sheila Atim, Hero Fiennes Tiffin and Jayme Lawson. The UK release date for The Women King is October 7th 2022
